Dr. Vincent K. Siefe

Dr. Vincent K. Siefe was in his early teens when he realized he wanted to become a dentist. He persuaded his family dentist to allow him to sit and watch him work on patients. He well remembers the challenges involved in pursuing the education he sought. A recipient of the Foundation’s loan program, he graduated from UCSB with a B.A. and then traveled north to the University of California, San Francisco, where he received a B.S. and Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree (D.D.S.) in 1987. After working for dental practices in Santa Barbara, he established a general dentistry practice in the Lompoc Valley in 1990.

Hoping to encourage fiscal responsibility as well as offer financial assistance to students pursuing studies in science, health or medicine, Dr. Siefe and his wife, Angela, have established the Siefe Family Loan Fund. The Fund will make loan awards to high achieving students from the Lompoc area. It is an endowed fund, which means that only the interest generated each year will be awarded, ensuring that the Fund will support students far into the future.

Known throughout the Lompoc Valley for his community support, Dr. Siefe provides invaluable assistance to his church and to the YMCA’s Campaign for Youth. He is a member of the Foundation’s Lompoc Affiliate, which he joined in 2005. This year, he will serve on the Foundation’s Health Distribution Committee, which will award grants to dozens of nonprofits in Santa Barbara County.

Dr. Siefe has hundreds of grateful patients. Soon he and his wife will hear from appreciative students. Fillings, floss and toothbrushes are certainly beneficial but an education is priceless.
