Keep Carpinteria Swimming
For more than 30 years, the Carpinteria Community Pool has been an important community resource, providing generations of residents with opportunities to learn to swim, stay active, compete, connect, and enjoy the water.
As the only public pool in Carpinteria and the surrounding area, the facility serves more than 24,000 visits each year and supports a wide range of community needs. The pool is home to swim lessons, lap swimming, aquatic fitness and therapy, youth recreation, lifeguard training, and Carpinteria Unified School District swim and water polo programs.
After decades of year-round use, the pool now requires significant investment to address aging infrastructure and ensure it can continue serving the community safely and reliably for years to come.
Investing in Our Community Pool
The Carpinteria Community Pool Project is focused on preserving and improving the existing facility—not building a new pool.
Planned improvements will address critical infrastructure, safety, accessibility, and operational needs throughout the facility. The project includes improvements to the pool deck and drainage, mechanical and water-quality systems, accessibility features, locker room facilities, and other aging components necessary to support safe and reliable operations.
These improvements will help extend the useful life of the pool, reduce the risk of costly emergency repairs or closures, improve accessibility, and preserve an important community resource for future generations.
A Community Effort
The City of Carpinteria has partnered with the Santa Barbara Foundation to launch a capital campaign to raise approximately $3.3 million to complete the Carpinteria Community Pool Project.
Thanks to the generosity of local foundations, families, and community supporters, approximately $374,000 has already been committed toward the campaign.
Reaching the full project goal will take a true community effort. Contributions of all sizes will help preserve a facility that serves children learning to swim, student athletes, seniors staying active, adults swimming for fitness, individuals participating in aquatic therapy, and countless community members who rely on affordable access to aquatics.
Together, we can Keep Carpinteria Swimming for generations to come.
