Carpinteria Children’s Project (CCP)

Critical Need

Request Amount: $80,000

Mission: Carpinteria Children’s Project (CCP) connects families to early education, quality care, diverse resources, and support services necessary for their children to thrive, flourish, and succeed. We accomplish this through our Early Childhood Education program and Family Resource Center that serves approximately 2,000 individuals each year.

Proposal Brief:

Carpinteria Children’s Project’s (CCP) Family Resource Center (FRC) is currently serving 38 immigrant families, including two who have had a spouse deported, and coordinating increased volunteer support in response to the urgent needs of our immigrant neighbors. CCP seeks to raise $80,000: $50,000 to support our Family Liaisons to provide direct services through case management and referrals with follow-ups for immigrant families and $30,000 to hire a part-time Volunteer Coordinator.

The Sea League

Request Amount: $50,000

Mission: To create immersive opportunities for youth to explore, play, and build community in marine habitats.

Proposal Brief:

In 2025, Sea League lost $143,140 in anticipated public funding due to shifts in state and federal priorities. This sudden loss represents 34% of our annual operating budget ($420,911). Without replacement funds, Sea League risks reducing scholarships (55–60% of youth served), limiting capacity in after-school sessions, and scaling back transportation and gear support that ensure equitable access. Our small fulltime staff of two is stretched thin, and cuts would fall most heavily on the underserved youth who rely on us for safe, structured, and healing outdoor experiences.
