The Birnam Wood Helping Hands Fund was established in March 2017 by Birnam Wood members to support a lifeline for Club Staff Employees confronted by natural disaster, illness, injury or property damage. Sadly, many of our amazing staff simply have no cushion against these unexpected setbacks.
The Birnam Wood Helping Hands Fund is a committee advised, field of interest fund at the Santa Barbara Foundation, which is supported entirely by Birnam Wood Club Member donations. The Santa Barbara Foundation manages the assets of the fund.
The Fund grants up to $12,000 per year, tax-free, to eligible Birnam employees with nowhere else to turn. The Helping Hands Fund awards grants to support employees for cases including:
