Person of the Year Nominations

Thank you for taking the time to nominate an individual, couple, or family who, through direct service or financial support, has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable work in the Santa Barbara community.

Please review the following information before completing your nomination form.

Award Purpose: To inspire philanthropy and volunteer service through the recognition and celebration of outstanding service. Learn more about the Person of the Year here.

Awardee Criteria: Persons of the year are nominated by community members in recognition of their extraordinary volunteer service that represents a meaningful commitment to the community, addresses a real community need, or enhances the quality of life. Nominees may also be acknowledged for exemplary acts of generosity, kindness, or innovation in the Santa Barbara area. 

Nomination Process: 

  • Nominations are open from January 7, 2025 to February 19, 2025. 
  • Nominations may be made by community members or organizations. 
  • Awardees will be chosen by a committee made up of former recipients, with input from nonprofit leaders. 
  • Up to two awardees may be selected in any given year. 
  • Awardees will be notified in early March 2025. 

Nominee Eligibility: 

  • Nominee’s contributions must benefit the residents of the Santa Barbara area. 
  • Nominee(s) may be an individual, a couple, or a family. 
  • Nominee’s contributions must be voluntary in nature and exceed the scope of professional duties.

    • Note: You may include up to two recommendation letters for your nominee. Letters must be in PDF format and must not exceed two pages per letter.
