The impact of recent federal funding cuts on Santa Barbara County’s nonprofits and the people they serve will have a lasting effect in our communities. These funds have long supported essential services — from food security and housing to health care, education, and child care. Now, as resources shrink, many organizations are struggling to keep up with growing demand.

These cuts don’t just affect nonprofits. They directly impact working families, vulnerable residents, children, and the stability of our local community. When nonprofits are forced to do more with less, the ripple effects touch us all. This isn’t just a funding issue. It’s a community well-being issue, a workforce issue, and an economic stability issue.
