2024 EMPLOYEE BENEFITS


All employee insurances are effective the first day of the month following the month of hire.

Housing Allowance
– Full‐time eligible staff may receive a taxable housing allowance of 2.5‐6.5% of their pay. The
percentage is based on a tiered schedule that rewards longer tenured staff. This benefit begins
on the first of the month following an employee’s one‐year anniversary.

Medical Insurance
– Effective the first day of the month following month of start date.
– Requires that an employee work forty hours per week.
– Various Blue Shield plans from which to choose (HMO,PPO).
– Foundation contributes to premium for employee (using the specified HMO Plan as a
benchmark, covering this benchmark 100%).
– Employees are responsible for paying a portion of the costs associated with coverage for spouse, domestic partner and other qualified dependents. Typically, the Foundation absorbs the majority of these dependent costs.

Dental and Vision Insurance
– Effective the first day of the month following month of start date.
– Foundation pays the employee premium for both dental and vision.
– Requires that employee work forty hours per week
– Employees are responsible for paying additional costs associated with coverage for spouse, domestic partner and other qualified dependents.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
– Effective the first day of the month following month of start date.
– Requires that employee work forty hours per week.
– Employee contribution is capped at $3,200 for Medical FSA and $5,000 for Dependent Care.

Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (paid for by SBF)
– Effective the first day of the month following month of start date.
– Foundation pays for this benefit premium for the employee.
– Requires that employees work forty (40) hours per week.
– Benefit is 1 x annual salary to a maximum benefit of$300,000.
– At age 65, the benefit is reduced by 35%.

Short & Long Term Disability Insurance
Effective the first day of the month following month of start date.
– Requires that employees work forty (40) hours per week.
– Paid for by Foundation
– Short Term Disability ‐ if definition of disability is met and after 60 days, employee would be
eligible to receive a weekly benefit up to 66.7% of weekly earnings, to a maximum of $1,616
per week up to a maximum of 18weeks.
– Long Term Disability – if definition of disability is met and after 180 days, employee would
be eligible to receive a weekly benefit up to 66.7% of monthly earnings, to maximum of
$7,000.

401(k) Retirement Plan – Foundation Match
– Effective on first payroll after new hire.
– Automatically enrolled at 4% upon hire.
– Immediate Vesting.
– The Foundation will match the employee’s contribution dollar for dollar up to a maximum of
4% of employee’s gross salary, on a per pay period basis.

401(k) Retirement Plan – Foundation Contribution
– Effective the first day of the month following one year of employment.
– 3‐year cliff vesting.
– For 2024, the Foundation will contribute 6% (2024) of employee’s gross salary. This
amount contributed may change from year to year based on the resources of the Foundation.

ESI Employee Assistance Program
– A confidential service available to assist employees in dealing with concerns within and
outside the workplace.
– E.g. counseling and financial services.
– Additional learning opportunities (L&D).
– Supervisor support.

Holidays
– For the entire calendar year in 2024, fourteen (14) paid holidays.

SICK time
– Each full‐time employee receives five days (40 hours) of SICK time to use for qualified
reasons, each calendar year. SICK time does not rollover. Sick time is available for use after 90 days of employment.

PTO
– PTO is earned on a per pay period basis and credited to an employee’s PTO bank on the first
day of the month following the month that PTO was earned.

1 – 4 Years = 15 days (Maximum Accrual 22.5 days)
5 – 8 Years = 20 days (Maximum Accrual 30 days)
>8 Years = 25 days (Maximum Accrual 37.5 days)

Cell Phone & Internet (2024 exception)
– As of June 6, 2020 (subject to change at any time) the total allowance per staff person,
per month, is $65. This is $30 per pay period
