Chloe needs child care: Your support makes a difference!

Meet Chloe

Chloe is a single mom who kicked into high gear when she learned her baby was on the way. She had been working in retail part time, but she was promoted to manager and began working full time right away.

But even with her promotion and working full time, she wasn’t able to afford quality child care for her son Michael.

She learned about a YMCA child care scholarship she could apply for thanks to donors of the Santa Barbara Foundation.

“With my car payment and other expenses, I wouldn’t be
able to pay for his pre-school. But with the scholarship,
I can make it work.”

Donate today to support families like Chloe’s to have the child care they need.

With a 50% scholarship, Chloe is able to afford to have Michael in the best care she can imagine at the Santa
Maria Valley YMCA.

“I run over to the Y on my lunch hour to pick up Michael and drop him off with my grandmother, then I go back to work,” she said.

“When I come home, we have dinner as a family before bedtime,” Chloe explained. “With my car payment and other expenses, I wouldn’t be able to pay for his pre-school. But with the scholarship, I can make it work. He’s doing great and learning so much,” Chloe beamed. “He can write his name and he’s only three years old! I’m so grateful for the scholarship that makes it possible.”
